Yes, this title needs an exclamation point, because I love every one of these snacks!
If we are traveling for a trip or even going to the ballpark, pool, or anywhere you might be away from the house for hours, these ideas are great to have on hand.
I can’t wait to talk a little bit about each item and why I enjoy them. First off, these items are all shelf stable and do not need any refrigeration.
I love this variety pack with three different options from savory to sweet. Add a cheese stick, piece of fruit, or nuts to fun snack. Both popcorn varieties contain 2 grams of fiber
Okay, this item may not be for everyone because of the flavor (not everyone in my household was a fan of this item). But for me I love crunch and flavor and this item was a fun mix of different flavors and textures. I am a fan of seasoned corn nuts. This mix contains pizza flavored breadsticks, seasoned corn nuggets, cheese flavored corn sticks and seasoned crackers
*This mix contains 1 gram of fiber and 2 grams of protein per bag. Again, add a piece of fruit or cheese stick for a more fueling snack.
I am a HUGE fan of cheese puffs! These are the perfect size to add to a lunch with a sandwich or any lunch box. They are not high in nutrients but come on let’s face it, they totally satisfy my crispy, crunchy craving for a bag of cheese puffs! And when I satisfy my cravings for something crunchy, my mind stops thinking about it!
Similar in nutrition to the cheese puffs, and don’t be fooled by the title “Veggie” straws, they do not count as a veggie. But they are delicious and that is why I love them! I love having a bag of them at hand when I am craving something crunchy.
My heart holds a special place for these bars, especially when I am traveling because they contain 12 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber for filling duo. These bars were a MUST the last two when I was traveling on an airplane. We had a super early flight and I had one of these bars and bough a cappuccino at the airport. It was so satisfying and delicious. A great breakfast or snack when you are hungry and need to find something more filling.
I will say, if we are going a car trip, we always have Twizzlers and there is not replacement for them, ha! BUT these twisted fruit ropes are a great snack to satisfy your sweet tooth when you are traveling. These fruit ropes are not sensational in nutrition, but they are delicious and made with minimal ingredients: Apple Puree Concentrate, Apple Juice Concentrate, Pectin, Natural Flavors, Strawberry Juice Concentrate, Raspberry Juice Concentrate, Blueberry Juice Concentrate, Fruit and Vegetable Juice (Carrot, Blueberry) For Color.
Nutty Chocolate Cherry Trail Mix
Forget the marketing term, KETO on this package (not great about this item). I do love the combo mix of this product. It includes almonds, pecans, dark chocolate drops, dried sweet cherries (my favorite!), and macadamia nuts. Each package contains 2 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein. A nice mix of nuts and a little sweetness.
Lightly Salted Roasted Cashews
I LOVE cashews! Their buttery flavor is so satisfying, feel free to add more food this package such as a granola bar or piece of fruit. This is a small package so might need more fuel, if you are having it as a snack. There is 4 grams of protein per package.
Mini Cashews, Cherry and Almonds with Cocoa Drizzle Mini Fruit & Nut Bars
This are my top pick for this list, and I am obsessed the chocolate cherry flavor! Each bar is about 90 to 100 calories and contain about 3 grams of fiber and 2 grams of protein. Plus, one box is a little over 5 dollars! To satisfy your sweet tooth or pair with a latte (my favorite!) they are the ideal mix of nuts and chocolate.
These are a win for the family! This item contains 12 grams of protein per stick and are individually wrapped. There are so many different flavors that Chomps makes, and I am hooked on the taco seasoned beef stick, too.
Love the mini size and perfect for little kids or great size if you don’t want a large serving. Each mini stick contains 4 grams of protein. These were my saving grace last year at the San Diego Zoo when I was hungry, and we didn’t have to spend an arm and a leg on a non-filling snack.
Freeze-Dried Strawberry Slices
My kids and I can’t get enough of these, and I wish they were not so expensive. But they are great to have in a bind when traveling. In one pack, it contains 2 grams of fiber and 1 gram of protein. These are very light, so add more food for a snack. But for the kiddos, they love them and may tie them over for a bit and prevent the hangries.
